Summer Days = Fun Days

First off for those of you who don't know, Jeff has a new job!! He starts working for DHL tomorrow. We are super excited for him to have this new opportunity!! So, he has had the last 2 weeks off to play with his girls (oh and squeeze in 3 rounds of golf!!)

So, we took the girls to the Splash Pad at the Y by our house. They love the water and we were exhausted chasing after them.

Check out the play area behind Kaiden. We can't wait until they can climb and play on it, we (I mean they) will have so much fun!!

Since their 18 month birthday was Friday, we used that as an excuse to head downtown to The Children's Museum and to have lunch at The Aquarium. We had the best time and wore them out!! And Mommy and Daddy too!!

Kaiden loves this fish!! She rides on it forever.

Kaiden's checking the rear view mirror and Kenedi's checking to make sure they are well within the speed limit!!

We then headed off to The Aquarium to have lunch. What we didn't know is that they had a ton of fun things for kids to do. We rode on a shark train ride. I just thought that was a cute name because we were at the aquarium. No, it's really a shark ride. They take you into this tank of sharks and they are swimming all around and OVER you and they STOP the train. Ok, most of you know I am a huge CHICKEN and I'm having to sit very calmly so I don't freak Kenedi out. All I wanted to do was yell what are you thinking lets get this train MOVING.

Here is an example:

Well we all survived and headed inside for lunch. Daddy and his girls.

Can you believe I was actually there? Here is my ONE picture I was in for the entire day!! OH WELL!!

We had to ride the carousel before we left. Kids under 2 are free so we just walked on over. Jeff and Kenedi went in first and Kaiden and I followed. Jeff went right in and the guy looked at me like I had lost my mind. I told him she was under 2 and he LAUGHED... out loud. I really think he thought I was scamming him to get a free ride on the carousel. So, as I am telling him I promise she's only 18 months I go to set Kaiden on the carousel next to Kenedi. She immediately starts climbing up my body and whimpering. This is not like her lately so I look down and I am trying to put her on an alligator that has the biggest teeth I have ever seen on a carousel. Poor thing. So we opted to scoot Kenedi over to the seahorse so Kaiden could ride on the dolphin. She sat right on and let me buckle her in. She thought Mommy had lost her mind!!

Kenedi and her seahorse!!

Kaiden loving the dolphin ride!!

They are having so much fun!!

The alligator!! YIKES!! Sorry Kaiden!!

The end!! Nap time!!

The Weekend Update- Continued

Sorry this is so late in coming. We have had a very busy and super fun week. I will have to post about that later!!
Kissing sisters!!

So, last weekend at Grandma and Grandad's we had all kinds of fun. They decided that based on their relatives success with T-Ball they needed to get started. Uncle Christopher could hit off a tee at 15 months so we are already behind!! Daddy used to hit homeruns (over the fence) off the tee so, we have to get busy!!

Daddy, I think that's a little high! Don't you?

Perfect!!

Now lets hit that ball!!

Me too daddy!!

We also swam for the first time this year. Luckily for the girls Grandma braved the cold water and gave them some lessons. The pics say it all they had a BLAST!!

Kaiden thinks Kenedi is so funny blowing bubbles!!

Kaiden's turn...Kenedi just can't watch!!

Grandma and Kenedi (no idea why it is so small!!)

Check out that smile on her face. She is having the time of her life!!

Kaiden was wondering if she had enough flotation devices on?!?!?

The girls also helped Grandad hang the flag for Veterans Day!!

Kenedi standing at attention. Doesn't she look like she's on duty?

Grandad and his girls!!

With all those parties, the girls had to help Grandma in the kitchen. Kaiden is ready to help!!

I don't want to cook, I want to help Grandad in the yard!!

We really had a great time and the girls always have fun seeing all of their relatives!! I just have to leave you with one last picture!!

How much fun is it really at Grandma and Grandad's?? This picture says it all.

WOW... What a weekend!!

As I left off last time we were headed into a really busy weekend!!

We had the girls 18 month checkup on Thursday. Here is the scoop:
Kenedi: 27 lbs 9oz with her cast (75%) and 34 inches (95%)

Kaiden: 34 lbs and 35.75 inches (both still of the charts.. but I really didn't need to tell you that now did I?!?!?!)

Then that afternoon we headed off to check on Kenedi's arm. Her x-ray was great and they were able to take off her cast. She did pretty well this weekend but we are kind of nervous because several times she cried really hard after falling so we are going to call the doc in the morning!!

We didn't make Jordan's graduation in time because as we pulled in both girls were crashed in their car seats. We put them straight to bed!! Luckily Mom and Dad's house is super close to the high school so I could hear bits and pieces while sitting on their front porch. He is such a great kid so we forgive him for the fact he will be attending A&M in the fall (Engineering school for that matter!!)

On Friday, Jeff and I headed to Austin for several last minute errands before all the parties began and the girls stayed home with Grandma and Grandad to take a nap and help over see the installation of their new entertainment center. Kaiden slept through most of it but from what I hear Kenedi has quite the decorative eye!!

That evening Mom and I headed to D'Hanis for 2 more cousins' graduations and 1 cousin's 8th grade graduation. For all my "big city friends" their graduating class was 20 people. 20.. can you imagine? So, I was related to 10% of their graduating class. So, in the same hour they had 8th grade graduation, high school graduation and their scholarship banquet. Courtney and Chelsea are both heading to A&M in the fall as well (I'm beginning to see a pattern here!!) Courtney is a National Merit Recipient!! When I was in school Mom and Dad told me they would buy me a car if I got a full ride scholarship. So, when I got my car Shannon and Mike told their girls the same thing. Well Courtney got so many academic scholarships that she is on a "full ride." So, she got her car and to ALL of our surprise it's BURNT ORANGE! WHAT is that?!?! Isn't that against some Aggie law? You would have to know Courtney to understand!! GOOF BALL!!

Saturday was Uncle Christopher and Aunt Kimberly's couple shower. It started at 6pm and the girls don't go to bed until 7:30. For an hour and a half we tried to keep the girls from jumping into the swimming pool.

Actually, thanks to Dennis and Mom we did get play our goofy games!! They watched the girls why Jeff and I refereed.

Kaiden and her uncle.

Christopher and Kim got some great gifts as well as some VERY interesting ones!!

I will finish The Medford version of "The Weekend Update" tomorrow. There is T-Ball practice, popsicle eating, swimming and Jordan's graduation party!! Until then...

Ready or not here we come!!!

Grandma and Grandad,

We hope you are ready for us!! We are packed and ready to invade.

Love,
Kenedi and Kaiden

Here is a rundown of our upcoming events:
8am Wednesday: 18 month checkups

2:30pm Wednesday: Kenedi's cast removal (please cross your fingers for us) we already have her bathing suit packed!!

Thursday night: Jordan's Graduation (He's going to A&M in the fall)

Friday night: Courtney's Graduation (She is going to A&M too)

Saturday night: Christopher and Kim's Couples Shower

Sunday morning: Ceremony at Me-Me's Church for Christopher and Kim's upcoming wedding

Sunday afternoon: Jordan's Graduation Party

The thing is... the girls have enough clothes for every event, a back up for each event and one to wear that's comfy between events. Mommy not so much....

And Kaiden was ready tonight... she didn't see the need to wait another day.

The Kitchen Table

The girls have been sitting at the table for a couple of months now. They really do pretty good and like being right next to Jeff and I. It also makes cleaning up a whole lot easier!

But... of course there is always cons to everything we do..... like wondering where your children are when it is time to wash their faces...

But don't worry they reappeared soon... and disappeared and reappeared (you get the point)

The table is also a time for mommy to play with new hair styles since they are usually loving whatever meal is currently being served!! Did you ever think she would have that much hair?

We also sometimes have guests at our table which makes meal time even more exciting. Hannah is only 2 months younger and the girls love it when she comes over. Jeff even kept all 3 of them while I ran a gift up to school for a baby shower. SUPER DAD!!

Oh and by the way can you tell which baby isn't in a booster seat and is sitting FLAT on her bottom? I know it's not a hard question. Check her out.. she thinks she is the coolest girl in town. We are off to the pedi tomorrow for our 18 month check ups. Wonder if Kaiden is closer to the chart? We are also hoping that Kenedi is getting her cast off tomorrow. It really couldn't be a better time since she has realized she gets most of the toys she wants when she starts swinging that thing around.

First Visit to the Dentist

Kenedi and Kaiden had their first dental visit today. Kaiden cried during the entire exam which made it easy to brush and examine her teeth. Kenedi well... was typical Kenedi she didn't cry one tear just laid there looking at everyone. Unfortunately, I forgot the camera so we don't have any actions shots. The girls actually slept in this morning and at 7:25am I woke up realizing we had to leave in exactly 5 minutes. We were only a couple minutes late!! After their A+ report we celebrated with pancakes from McDonald's at a nearby park. All in all it was a really great experience.

Kenedi with her toothbrush and her certificate as a good brusher!!

Kaiden definitely enjoys brushing her own teeth rather than being held down and having someone else do it for her.

"Peep a Boo"

This afternoon I was in the living room and all I could hear is "beep boo" and then tons of laughter. I do what any good mother would do and grab my camera before heading into the kitchen. This is what I find...

Kaiden was lying on her back with her feet propped up on the side of the cabinet. Kenedi was opening and shutting the doors. Then she would roll over and give this very devilish grin.

Then it was Kenedi's turn. Kaiden was a little tougher on Kenedi as she pushed against the doors so she couldn't open them when she wanted. Kenedi didn't think that was super funny but as soon as Kaiden opened the doors she would die laughing. They made me laugh out loud!!

They had the best time!!
